The Department for Education's (DfE) Period Product Scheme is a pivotal initiative aimed at promoting period equality in education. By ensuring that period products are available to those who need them, we support young people in schools and colleges across England, helping them to fully participate in their education. This scheme is facilitated by phs Group, ensuring reliable and equitable access to period products.
We believe that period products should be made available to those who need them in education as they're a necessity, not a luxury.
Are you a teacher?
As a vital bridge between the scheme and the learners, your role is paramount in ensuring that period products are accessible to those who need them. This scheme is not just about providing products; it’s about creating an environment of inclusivity, support and understanding.
By making period products readily available as and when they are needed, this scheme enables all learners to fully participate in their education. With a product range to suit everyone, there’s a choice of pads and tampons, including environmentally friendly and reusable products.

This scheme ensures that you have access to free period products which are essential for your health, well-being, and educational experiences. Don’t let your period hold you back from learning and reaching your full potential.
Does your school provide free period products? Are they easily accessible? If your answer is no to either of those questions, then inform your teachers or school administration that period products should be made freely available to learners at your school, and that they should be readily available in washrooms.
Urge your schools to distribute their provided period products in a manner that allows you and your peers to access them easily and freely.
