We are proud to announce that phs Group has achieved the prestigious Bronze medal accreditation from EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. This recognition highlights our unwavering commitment to embedding sustainability principles into every aspect of our operations.
What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is a globally recognised sustainability assessment platform, evaluating over 100,000 companies worldwide across four key themes:
- Environment
- Labour & Human Rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable Procurement
Their rigorous assessment methodology is built on international sustainability standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000. Companies are evaluated annually, and the scoring methodology is continuously refined, making medals increasingly difficult to achieve.
Sustainability at phs Group
Our group-wide Bronze accreditation with an overall score of 60/100 reflects the significant progress we’ve made and places phs Group in the top 22% of companies rated by EcoVadis in the combined facilities support activities industry. We are also in the top 6% for the environment theme. This achievement demonstrates our ability to meet the increasingly stringent demands of EcoVadis while aligning with global best practices.
Our EcoVadis accreditations are a testament to our broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments:
- Environmental: Through initiatives like our Carbon Reduction Plan and the phs LifeCycle Strategy, we are reducing emissions and diverting up to 95% of customer waste from landfills to energy-from-waste sites, transforming it into energy for the National Grid.
- Social: Campaigns such as Dispose with Dignity and phs Period Equality and our DFN Project SEARCH supported internship scheme for young adults with learning difficulties and/or autism showcases our dedication to creating positive social impact.
- Governance: We maintain a transparent and ethical supply chain and continue to invest in robust governance practices.
Silver Success at phs Compliance and phs Serkonten
While phs Group’s September 2024 submission resulted in a Bronze medal, we are thrilled to highlight that two of our divisions, phs Compliance and phs Serkonten, have achieved Silver medals in independent submissions.
In April 2024, phs Compliance’s efforts earned them a Silver medal, placing them in the top 15% of companies globally for sustainability. Similarly, phs Serkonten’s outstanding performance was also recognised with a Silver medal in their recent evaluation. These accolades underscore the sustainability leadership within our divisions and set a high benchmark for the entire group.
Looking Ahead
Achieving the Bronze medal at a group level is just the beginning. With divisions like phs Compliance and phs Serkonten leading the way with Silver medals, we are inspired to aim even higher in our sustainability journey. Continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration remain at the heart of our strategy as we work towards making a lasting positive impact on the environment and society.
Thank you to everyone at phs Group who contributed to these achievements. Your dedication ensures that we not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers, stakeholders, and communities. Together, we are driving positive change, creating a sustainable future, and leaving a lasting impact on the world around us.
