Developing a workforce that represents society
At phs, we have over 3,000 employees supporting 120,000 businesses in over 300,000 locations. This allows us to offer a wide range of jobs; from sales and customer services to technicians, engineers and marketeers who help us deliver a market-leading service.
Developing a passionate, inclusive, and diverse workplace is at the heart of everything we do. Our culture is focused on encouraging every individual to perform to the best of their ability. We support and fund learning initiatives for all our employees, which includes apprenticeships and industry specific qualifications, as we really do want our employees to grow within the business
In partnership with DFN Project SEARCH and Hft, in 2021 we launched a new scheme set to support young people with learning disabilities and/or autism into paid full-time employment. The scheme at phs will run for 10 months and will see young people with learning difficulties taking on roles with mentors across the entire organisation.
Making a difference
In 2019, we were appointed to the UK Government’s official Period Poverty Taskforce with one common goal; eliminating period poverty. In partnership with Bloody Good Period, phs is leading one of just three workstreams tasked at improving access to period products for those who need it. We believe that bringing together our expertise, experience and resource will create a force to be reckoned with.
We are currently supporting the Department for Education in England with providing free period products to over 20,000 schools. As well as supporting many local authorities and schools across Wales.
We also sit on the Welsh Government’s Period Dignity Taskforce and Blaenau Gwent’s Period Equality Taskforce, which have both been set up to ensure products are reaching those that need them.
