Not all companies are the same, what makes phs different.
We believe that we can make a difference to people’s lives by driving innovation and setting benchmarks in our industry. We don’t just provide equipment and products, we put people at the heart of our products and services, as we genuinely care about what we do and how we do it.
At phs, we like to stand out from the crowd. For example, we are the only hygiene services provider with a national agreement in place to divert your sanitary waste from landfill to Energy from Waste facilities, where it is turned into renewable energy. We are also leading the way by commissioning expert research and provoking conversations around washroom equality. We are the original champions of Period Equality and together with Prostate Cancer UK, we are driving major changes in legislation around Male Incontinence facilities.
Our commitment to people is inward facing too, we lead the way on apprentice schemes, provide clear gender pay reports and adopt rigorous best practice across our business.
phs are not just market leaders by size and expertise, but also in our commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). By partnering with phs you can ensure you are working with a business that cares about the world we live in.
We can help you better understand your carbon emissions.
Detailed reporting
We provide bespoke reports for our customers, allowing your business to:
- quantify the amount of waste you are diverting from landfill through the phs LifeCycle Strategy.
- record how much fuel our technicians use to carry out your service visits.
These reports are crucial to Scope 3 reporting on carbon emissions, allowing you to demonstrate the benefits of using phs as your hygiene supplier while creating a more sustainable supply chain.
Innovative product development
We have an in-house product development team focused on developing products that improve our customers facilities while considering environmental impacts.
Ongoing product development means we are continually creating new environmentally friendly options, such as water management products, energy efficient hand dryers and biodegradable, enzyme-based cleaning products.
Waste minimisation and recycling considerations are embedded within the phs culture as part of our broader Environmental Policy. phs operates a system based on the waste hierarchy as set out in the DEFRA National Waste Strategy.
In addition, any products returned from customer sites go through our product refurbishment and recycling programme to ensure we minimise our impact on the environment.
phs manages a robust, ethical supply chain consisting of a fully vetted preferred supplier list. Our Supplier Code of Conduct sets out the minimum requirements we look for in the businesses we work with.
We are accredited by Eco Vadis, who provide independent Corporate Social Responsibility ratings and registered on the SEDEX database which allows organisations to store and view data on ethical and responsible business practices.
Each day, phs Washroom Service Technicians undertake 20,000 service visits to our customers’ sites to perform essential hygiene services.
Our fleet uses environmentally cleaner washroom service vehicles, including electric vehicles, and e-cargo bikes around our cities, as well as all company vehicles meeting Euro VI emissions standards.  We have also expanded on-foot servicing in high density areas, as well as using river boat transport within London for consumables.
